Addictions Counseling

Maryland Wellness’ Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and addictions counseling program provides Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP) options. We focus on trauma, grief, neglect, violence, loss and relationship-related issues that might be the underlying cause of the substance use. Our holistic approach looks at each individual’s unique lifestyle and needs versus focusing on steps or pre-planned therapeutic approaches. We’re also experienced working with individuals in reentry programs to teach them how to re-acclimate to life without substances.

Our counseling supports the whole person via individual and group meetings. Personalized treatment plans for each client include weekly updates with the treatment team, which could comprise the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) counselor/case manager, therapist and medication prescriber/psychiatrist.

We provide individualized reporting and compliance, including weekly urine drug toxicology screens, and updated progress documentation to the referring agency. Maryland Wellness offers special services, including relapse prevention and pre-trial intervention, as well as access to continued community resources during treatment.

“It is a very good program, and the staff are nice and very helpful… they have helped me branch out of my comfort zone. They are always there when I need help or even just a quick check in. Thanks for helping me find my true self and helping me along my journey.”

“Maryland Wellness is great!!! The staff really helped me and my daughter get settled into our new home and school. I’m a single mother and I struggled with transportation and housing. With the help of my counselor, I was able to get to my destinations and became stress free about my housing!”
– T.D., Waldorf
“My PRP worker has been very helpful and has taught me how to better myself and take care of my children. She also helped me do the things I needed to do to regain custody of my son.”

“When I first started, I was afraid to talk but once they started telling me about this program, I started to open up more. They taught me that I am important; it’s about me today. They have taught me to forget about the past and focus on my goals – my GED,  nursing, helping the homeless, volunteering, etc. This is the most amazing, awesome program in Baltimore, and that’s from my heart. The staff is wonderful, amazing, beautiful, unique and have hearts of gold.”
